S H E T T Y
Hi, I'm Pruthvi.
I recently graduated with my master's degree in Computer Science from Indiana University, with a focus in the areas of Data Science, Analytics and Machine Learning.
Anthem Inc.
Indianapolis, IN | Jan`17 - May`17
I worked as a Data Analytics intern, and helped build applications, and design models to capture, gauge and interpret big data. My work aided in predicting and solving insurance related data challenges.
Bloom I.T.
Bloomington, IN | May`16 - Aug`16
I interned here for the summer, helping build .NET web and cross platform mobile applications for an enterprise facing line of technology products by Bloom Insurance Agency. I had a great summer working with Derek Foreman & Kirk Gleason.
Indian Institute of Science
Bangalore, India | Sep`14 - Jul`15
I did research in parallel computing for Intel. Being India's #1 University, IISc is known for it's amazing campus. I learnt a whole lot sharing the lab with Prakash Murali & Nitin Bhat.
Unisys
Bangalore, India | Jun`14 - Aug`14
I interned with the R&D team, working alongside Saurabh Sood to develop .NET modules and hybrid mobile applications for Unisys' ClearPath ePortal.
General Electric
Bangalore, India | Jun`13 - Aug`13
I interned with GE's Information Technology department after my junior year and helped optimize GE's internal EPR System - SupportCental.
Jarvis - Twitter bot
Spring`17
Built a Jarvis inspired A.I. bot to generate random tweets based on popular content on Twitter using Markov Chains. It may sometimes seem to be surprisingly philosophical.
Ascend
Summer`16
I contributed to the Windows and iOS modules of Ascend, Bloom's cross platform application for Medicare agents to manage client details, enrollment plans & appointments in real time.
Multicore Performance Analysis
Spring`16
The project evaluates the validity of Amdahl's law to predict the theoretical speedup of the run times of machine learning algorithms in parallel systems.
A.I. Image Classifier
Fall`15
Built a realistic image classifier which identifies the correct orientation of images from a randomly oriented Flickr data-set, using k-Nearest Neighbor and Artificial Neural Networks.
iPay
Spring`14
Developed a cloud retail payment system, authenticated by bio-metrics. This project was funded by the Dept. of Science & Technology, Govt. of India and won the all India 2nd place at Unisys Cloud 20/20 2014.
World Development Indicators
Fall`16
A comparative analysis & visualization of the World Development Indicators, focusing on the growth of China and India, using dashboards and stories on Tableau.
Reading habits of America
Fall`16
Consolidated data from Pew Research to create infographics about the reading habits of America across gender, race, age, education, income and place of living.
Open Government Data
Summer`16
I use this data to make sense of how various sectors in India are performing. The sheer diversity and size of the data leads to some interesting analysis. I'm working on compiling these in a blog.
Social Media Sentiment Analysis
Spring`16
Analyzed Social Media data after the Panama Papers leak to understand & visualize the sentiment of twitter users across gender & geographies.
Predictive Analysis
Fall`15
Built a model to predict the probability of a tumor being benign or malignant more accurately than off the shelf ML libraries over the Wisconsin Breast Cancer Dataset using Random Forests ensemble.
Transit optimization
Fall`15
Worked with the Campus Bus Service to optimize the number of passengers ferried while maintaining a minimum frequency of service, maximizing the on-route time.
Ensemble Machine Learning
Spring`16
I was a part of Prof. Mehmet Dalkilic's research group and was involved in developing an optimized 'Random Forest' implementation for the Human Gene Mutation Database in an attempt to collate known gene lesions responsible for human inherited disease.
Community Atmosphere Model
Fall`15
Carrying forward my work at IISc, I had the opportunity to assist Prof. Chanh Kieu in his research and was responsible for building & installing atmospheric modelling systems (CAM 5.3) on the IU's supercomputers - Big Red II and Karst.
Intel MIC Architecture for CESM
Fall `14 - Summer `15
I worked at Prof. Sathish Vadhiyar's lab at SERC, IISc - building, optimizing, and executing parallel climate models of CESM on Intel's MIC Architecture. This is my only claim to fighting climate change, or so I'd like to believe.
I appreciate logic, wit and humor. I enjoy rational discussions as much as talking about conspiracy theories. Topics which I closely follow are India, Technology, Education & Sustainable Energy. I blog occasionally and take to Twitter or Quora to share things I find interesting.
My Myers-Briggs Type Indicator is ENFJ-A. Apparently, I share my personality type with the likes of Nelson Mandela, Barack Obama & Sheryl Sandberg. You too can feel good about your personality type here.
I like spending my time doing photography, playing football, swimming or cooking. I am on a lifelong quest to learn new languages. Here is a collection of my favorite stuff that I enjoy watching, listening to or reading.
And, here's my Resume.
